"Christ Alone"

Refrain: Christ alone, Christ alone, None can save but Christ alone Trust Him wholly, Trust Him only, None can save but Christ alone In that hour of deep temptation, In that black of darkest night, With my bones all broken, bleeding, Drained of every drop of might. Refrain Will my hands let go of His hand? Will I fail to cling to Him? Will I sink 'neath waves of anguish? 'Neath the line of Hades' rim?  Refrain Lo, the answer's not far from me, Not a doubt, Of course I will. Sin's deceit yet dwelling in me, Begs pride's boast, "I'll hang on still". Refrain  But 'tis not the truth, I know it. For if absent endless grace, I would curse the name that bought me, And I'd smite His love scared face.  Refrain Oh the matchless Love, That bids me, Yet to put my trust in Him, Though I would forsake Him fully, Left to human strength and whim. Refrain  No, the answer lies not in me, If I can but hold on still. But in Christ who never weakens, Never can, nor never will.
